Slide Transitions (Blender Shader)
This is not a file used to generate the fractal tree. For that, check out this file:
Fractal Tree (Blender Geometry Nodes)
This uses renders made with varied complexity to transition between them in a slideshow style. The heart of it is a shader added to a plane with first nodes like so:
And then the pattern continues, so you can recreate it easily. The file also already takes care of the camera and color space settings similar to this file:
Color to alpha: for cutting out line art
If you want to see the effect in higher quality, you can click the Youtube link below; make sure you enable 4K even if your monitor is 1080p, as the setting affects bitrate:
My Little Experiments: Fractal Tree (or broccoli)
What the node tree does:
👉 Loads all slides at once as Image Textures (you could hit some limits with too many).
👉 You need to change the node tree by removing or duplicating nodes when changing the number of slides.
👉 There's a script that automatically sets color mapping to "non-color".
👉 The script also sets the scene dimensions to match the image texture.
👉 There are two effects (materials), one with alpha over, second is also alpha over but heavily influenced by position for a window blinds (well, rotated 90°) effect.
⚠I promise no support and give no guarantee the item actually works❗ You’re buying junk! Treat it as an educational material rather than a product. However, I’d love to hear any kind of feedback: bug reports, suggestions, ‘backlinks’ to your work that uses the obtained junk (if you decide to share, please provide info if I can use it in the description of the item). Based on that I may tinker with an idea some more, but no promises are made.
Within the package:
✅ A transitions.blend
file with the setup I used to render the animation above.
✅ 19 PNG files I used, so you can test it and play with it straight-away.
